Global Education Elite (GEE) educators dedicate their time and knowledge to youth and provide experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom through travel abroad and community service. They encourage and inspire each students. Their goal is to help students to find their own unique way to prepare for their future.
Ms. Iris Cheung
Co-founder and Program Director at Global Education Elite, UC San Diego Extension Community Outreach Educator
Ms. Iris Cheung is the co-founder and the program director at Global Education Elite. She is also a UC San Diego Extension Community Outreach Educator . Graduated from the University of California, San Diego majoring in Bioengineering, Iris is passionate about developing STEAM-related programs to inspire the next generate and empowering them to discover their passions to prepare them for success in college and their future careers.
Ms. Sarah Chevaillier
Tri-lingual international educator
Ms. Chevaillier is a tri-lingual international educator with dual degrees, MBA and MA in Teaching and Curriculum. She has extensive experience teaching K-12 in China, India, Africa, France, Switzerland. Through her knowledge in Accreditation and Curriculum planning, she currently serves as an Education Consultant for International Education.
Ms. Chevaillier holds M.B.A. International School of Management, Paris/New York, M. A. Michigan State University, Teaching and Curriculum, and B.A. University of California, Berkeley, She currently resides in Berlin.
Mr. Timothy Stiven
Teacher at Canyon Crest Academy
Mr. Timothy Stiven is a teacher at Canyon Crest Academy since 2006 and coordinator for Envision Conservatory for the Humanities at Canyon Crest Academy since 2013. Mr. Stiven is the fourth-generation educator from both sides of his family. He taught in both private and public school. In 2004, he brought his experience of the private school curriculum and established it in a public school. His goal is to integrate the academics into the preprofessional conservatories through project-based learning.
Mr. Stiven also developed "The San Diego International Sister Cities Association Youth Soccer tournament", which known as “The Balboa Cup” for short. He brought the youth teams around the world together.
His motto is “If you’re not having fun, then you’re not doing it right.”
Mr. Amir Samandi
Mentor Coordinator at CAST Tech High School
Amir Samandi is the Mentorship Coordinator for CAST Tech High School through Tech Bloc. Amir has taught AP Human Geography, AP Government, AP Economics, 6th Grade World Cultures and several other courses over his nearly six years of teaching with the STEM Academy in North East ISD. He was awarded the PTSA Lifetime Member Award in 2017, and was a Finalist for the 2017 HEB Excellence in Education Award and has been nominated or awarded numerous other awards.
Amir is also an Adjunct Professor with St. Mary's University and has taught undergraduate, graduate and Upward Bound courses there. Amir was recently named one of San Antonio's "40 under 40" by the San Antonio Business Journal for his work. Amir is also a former Foreign Affairs Analyst with the U.S. Dept. of State and a national/cybersecurity contractor with the U.S. Dept. of Defense. He is married and has three sons.
Mr. Michael Mullooly
Buddhist Studies and World Religions Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Mr. Michael Mullooly is a lecturer in Buddhist Studies and World Religions. He was a Ph.D. student in the Buddhist Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When the program folded in 2003, he graduated with a Masters of Arts degree in the Languages and Cultures of Asia. He holds degrees in philosophy, history, and education from Marquette University.
He has traveled and led tours to Asia numerous times. He has taught popular courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Waukesha from 2006 to the present. He also taught at Alverno College from 2012-15. He is the author of two books: World Religions as Personality Types (Sacristan Towers Press, 2015) and Lifespan Spirituality (Sacristan Towers Press, 2018).
